Software piracy is a crime. It is the unauthorized copying, distribution, or usage of the software. It is such a successful “business” that it has caught the interest of organized crime networks in a number of nations.
In addition, the act of installing and using a commercial software without paying for it is known as “pirating.” This name is derived from the conventional definition of “pirate,” which is a ship criminal who steals and loots the property of others.
Software piracy is the use and/or distribution of copyrighted computer software in breach of copyright laws or licensing limitations. End-user piracy, counterfeiting, and hard disc loading are all common types.
