Share this post on:

In the US Customary System, pint is a measure of liquid volume or capacity equivalent to 16 fluid ounces or 28.88 cubic inches (about 0.47 liter). A pint is a little more than half a litre.

  • 20 fluid ounces (fl oz) = 1 pint (pt)
  • 8 pts = 1 gallon (gal)

1 pint = 2 cups = 16 fluid ounces

gallon (gal) is the same as 16 cups or 8 pints or 4 quarts.  It is the largest liquid measurement.

1 gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints = 16 cups = 128 fluid ounces
