Dear Dr. A.B.C,

I wish to apply for the position of Ph.D. scholar in the manufacturing and mechanical characterization of recyclable composites at ABC University, Ireland as advertised on http://www.whatsinsight.org. I have recently finished working as a Lead researcher on a composite project in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, University name, under the supervision of Dr. Very Nice.

The aim of the Composite project was to exploit validated simulation tools to analyze and optimize the design of industrial composite components. During this project, I have been fortunate to get experience with a variety of materials characterization techniques, as well as the Abaqus simulation software.

In addition, I am involved in the ongoing 3D printing project as a volunteer. As a part of the 3D printing project, I am involved in material testing of the 3D printed parts. While working on the 3D project I have gained knowledge of material characterization of components sub-assemblies.

As you can see from my curriculum vitae, I have gained significant experience with composites manufacturing, characterization, and simulation. Also, in my previous roles as a teaching assistant and lecturer, I have taught courses on Introduction to Materials Science, Thermodynamics of Materials, Materials Selection, and Introduction to Engineering Design. Furthermore, I have had the opportunity to be a member of a lab establishment committee of undergraduate labs including Polymer labs and thermoset composites labs.

Enclosed please find my curriculum vitae. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,
